Bali is a no go today. Due to swells the tender boats cannot get alongside safely to take people ashore.
So it was a good job we cancelled our tour when we did. Because I can only imagine in the T&C you will get the money back as onboard credit. So not only do we have a sea day now, but also everyone on board with a minimal entertainment schedule.
In the meantime here is a picture of the wonderful Bali from the ship.
REVISED PACIFIC EDEN
So with the revised Pacific Eden, we did the quiz in the main Marquee. Which we did better than we thought we would, you can see how well we didn’t do below.
In fact, this was the unmarked paper. We got 16 out of 30 not great but better than some.
THEN I HAD A BRILLIANT IDEA. TO WATCH MARLEY AND ME.
So, we had nothing to do so thought let’s watch the film about the dog. I haven’t seen that movie in a long time, and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
When we got back to the room and the latter was on our bed. The meeting was arranged for 3 pm in the blue room. Only an hour and we needed lunch yet.
Panic set in, Tina wasn’t feeling up to it so I was going to interview them solo.
OMG I HAVE JUST INTERVIEWED THE LEADING MAN AND LADY FOR THE PACIFIC EDEN FOR OUR ONLINE MAGAZINE IN A FEW MONTHS.
So I had spoken to one of the entertainment team at the morning quiz regarding having an interview with Mark and Hannah (the leading man and lady for the onboard shows).
We talked for about 45 minutes about them and the shows on board the Pacific Eden between now and Singapore. When we get to Bali, I’ll go through the audio the write our interview.
SO, WE HAD A FIFA HOUR AND THEN PROBABLY THE WORSE DINNER WE HAD HAD ON BOARD THIS SHIP.
Omg, FIFA. Yes, it was only FIFA 14. But still, it was FIFA and the chance to play in a competition was going to be great. So we finally found this room. To be confronted with a huge projector and no one else there. Great, competition just me, myself and I. Then along came Steve. A self-proclaimed seasoned FIFA level 6. Me as Barcelona and creme as Chelsea, the first game ended 6-1 in my favour.
The following two he was Real Madrid, the first of those El Classico was 2-1 in my favour, and the last was 1-0. That was it, the hour up. Steve vowed to brush up on his tactics and be back.
WHAT A DISGUSTING DINNER
So the food is now becoming very same, same. But neither of us had tried the curry house. So I went for a chicken biryani with some vegetable fried rice and popadoms. Mine wasn’t too bad. However, the chicken was bone dry and the skin rubbery. So decided to head back grab some crumbed fish and a chocolate sponge and custard. Most of the fish was left, but the saving grace was the dessert. Still not great, but certainly left dinner on a high note.
Tina had a flavourless goat curry. Which she left and then had something from the French-inspired section. Which again seemed lacking in flavour.
SARAH JONES AND SOME COMEDY VENTRILOQUIST
So this was a nice change, the comedy was funny in parts. But not so much in others. The highlight was getting Lindsey up on stage. Strapping a mouthpiece and using him a bit like a puppet.
NAME THE TUNE QUIZ
So we had tried this quiz just a couple of days ago. ’50s and ’60s left us floundering. By tonight we were told was a mixture of ’60s through to the present day. Armed with a piece of paper and pencil we were ready. Then out of the blue, we were asked if we wanted to be on a smaller team and combine brains.
This worked perfectly, but from the answer sheet below. We got the modern music and a couple of the oldies. However, had we have gone on our own. We would have scored a very respectable 20 out of 30.
Tomorrow we are off to Probolinggo for our next port. This means only four more days until we leave the ship. Booooo, but then the next adventure of 6 weeks in Bali begins.
