Travelling By Boat Checklist

So this is my one stop post on things to bear in mind while travelling on boats for short distances or overnight.  So here is my boat travel checklist;

  1. Travel sickness tablets, even if nothing else has turned your stomach over before taking them with you just in case.
  2. Check the currency used on the boat if travelling internationally. You don’t want to get stung on poor exchange rates on the ship.
  3. Check out facilities on the boat before you completely settle into your room. This is important just in case to need any help.
  4. Only raid the minibar if you know the cost of the items provided.
  5. Ask about upgrades; you never know what might be available.
  6. If you’re making an overnight stop, bring your food. It will be so much cheaper that way, and you won’t be eating nasty fast food.
  7. Take everything you need out of your car because you can’t go back to get anything.
  8. Drinks especially alcohol is pricey! Take your own, trust me.
  9. Pick up the free maps from on the ship; if we haven’t on our ways to Amsterdam, we would have missed out on loads.
  10. Sleep when you can, especially on an overnight boat.
  11. Enjoy staring out into the abyss! Hehe
