Chomping on Raw Mince at the 7BONE in Hove, Brighton

Over the past few years there have been more and more burger joints opening up over the city. 7Bone was one that we had noticed and earmarked to visit. It was the day after we visited the Decadent Garden at ChoccyWoccyDooDah’s.

Firstly, we had driven past here many times and had no idea it was there. You can see from the front façade you can see how it could be easily missed.

Ok, lets get stuck into this!

We went for it as well, Tina straight away wanted a Maltoreo milkshake. See, I would normally jump at the chance of a good milkshake. But, my body just picks and chooses what dairy products it will accept and what it wont. Alas, this time I opted for a jug of tap water.

This was followed by a feast of meat and carbs. We both went for their red basket meal deals with one side. I went for the Prince Charles is Overrated (came like a bacon cheeseburger) with a side of onion straws. Tina went for the Shuffle to straight time (standard cheeseburger with friend onions) with a side of poutine.

Naturally, we don’t settle for mains. Oh no, not here at Look at our World. We ordered a side of tater tots and some pork rind.

We were asked how we wanted our burgers to both we replied as medium. When cooking burgers at home, there is nothing better than a slightly pink burger. However, you can see from the photo a good vet would be able to bring it back to live. It had the texture of a steak tartar, which is great if that’s what you wanted. But not for me in my burger.

After pushing down as much burger we asked for the bill. It really wasn’t too bad for what we ordered. Just over £32 (which doesn’t include the tip).

Had the burgers arrived medium like we wanted, then they would have been quite nice. However, eating raw mince in a bun was not very palatable. So, next time ask for the burger well done and it might come out how you’d like it.

Look at our World Top Tips

  • Ask for the burger to be cooked well done,
  • Leave plenty of time to find a parking space, as the nearest car park is TESCO (which you need to spend £5 to get free parking for 2 hours I believe), and
  • Consider heading into town to have your burger, there is a plethora of great burger joints which are slightly better than 7BONE I’m afraid.
