As we really didn’t have time to see much in Newcastle, we were really only driving through to get the ferry to Amsterdam. But we couldn’t pass it and not go and see the angle of the north statue. Neither me or Lee had ever seen it before, I remember reading about it but didn’t really know what it was.
We parked up in the free car park just down the road and took the sort walk to the sculpture, it was very impressive, so simple but it has an amazing presence.
Saying that though I’m not sure what I was expecting bit I thought in my minds eye that it was going to be a lot taller, I have no idea why because I hardly knew anything about the sculpture but I couldn’t help feeling a little disserpionted, well disserpionted is the wrong word because its a beautiful statue but maybe a little underwellemed.
I would certainly go and see it though the design and craftsmanship is stunning and you will be able to make the same pose Lee did in the pictures, hehe.
