Sharon Gorge in Bundaberg

Neither of us knew what we were expecting, a gorge, what exactly is a gorge but we were up for a little bit of walking, and we thought instead of googling it like others possibly would; we would take the plunge, well a walk really and see what this was all about.

So we entered this small opening in the forest and made our way through this series of cut out steps and forged woodland walkways, forged I assume by the hundreds who had flocked here before us. Hehe

Ok so there wasn’t much to see while walking through, no real openings and no real way of seeing the reason this was on trip advisor, okay so there was a little gully to the right of the path, but it hadn’t rained in days, and no water was running through it. Ooooh we passed some people coming back this way, I thought to myself well it got to get better, there must be something to see, we must be heading in the right direction.

Onwards and upwards we went, walking along and along but nothing, oooh a leaf, and another and another. Then!!!!!!!!!! Then a light, well an opening within the trees, are we here have we found what we’re looking for.

Errrrr well yeah, we had, and it’s what neither of us expected.

We came to an opening with a small platform and yep that was it; we couldn’t believe it, and both kind of wished we had looked this place up before coming, but as we looked out onto this opening of water standing on this tiny platform another fellow traveller rocked up behind us.

We exchanged the customary hellos and then literary went is this it to each other! Did we take a wrong turn, nope, this was it? We all shook our heads and walked back.

Well, at least we got some exercise.
