Welcome To The 2016 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

This was the final main event while in Australia before heading back to Blighty. Typically a week-long festival full of various events culminating on a carnival of flowers parade. Our advice is to check the route map before arriving. The 2016 route was quite large and was not overly packed with people. Yes, we arrived super early, so we got some cracking kerb side seats.

It was roasting, and where we were standing/sitting was relentless for the sun. However, we did have a nice breeze was great for the inevitable sunburn we would realise the following day.

The event was free to attend, and parking was a little troubling.

Look at our World Top Tips

  • Arrive in plenty of time to get yourself a parking space and good position for the parade,
  • Bring your own picnic and chairs. You will not like sitting on a kerb for a few hours,
  • Lotion up with sun cream. We did, but with the wind, you just don’t realise how red you are going.
